Lisvane-Llanishen Reservoir

Visitor Centre_Cardiff_UK

with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios

Welsh Water's flagship visitor centre dedicated to water sports and bird watching in a stunning SSSI location near Cardiff. The reservoirs were originally built in the 1860s to supply drinking water for Cardiff.  A Victorian landmark covering 110 acres on the Northern edge of the city.  Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water took over the site in 2016, with the vision to create a hub for recreation, health and wellbeing, where local residents can connect with the water and the environment. Our inclusive and environmentally conscious scheme demonstes Sustainable Drainage whilst creates a meeting place for the wider community. Attracting thousands of visitors each month it proves to be a popular destination and was shortlisted for the RICS Community Benefit Awards.
